Professional Qualifications

ACCOUNTANCY – AAT/ACCA/ CIMA

Professional qualifications are recognised as not only providing an individual with industry-specific skills, but also as a demonstration of their commitment to continuous learning and development.

ACCA

The ACCA qualification is a passport to a new world of opportunity - once you become a member, the learning process continues throughout your career. The range of educational opportunities includes a degree qualification, a specifically tailored MBA and a constantly updated range of courses in all areas of finance and management.

The ACCA Professional Scheme is a highly relevant, targeted combination of study and practical experience. The syllabus is a result of extensive research and consultation with governments, students, colleges and employers from a range of public and private sector organisations.

Wherever you are in the world, ACCA strives to offer consistently high standards of training and support. Basic guidance for a full time student is approximately 12-15 hours a week study, and therefore approximately 150-350 hours in total would be required from the individual depending on how recently they qualified or how well versed they are in country specific standards.

CIMA - The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants

Studying for CIMA and training to become an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA) will help you to develop the skills required to succeed in business.

The CIMA Professional Qualification provides more strategy, more management accounting, more management and more project management than other professional accountancy qualifications. It will give you the key skills to succeed in your career plus the relevant experience to be a success.

If you are new to accounting then you must complete the CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting before moving on. It will introduce you to the concept of management accounting and give the basics of accounting and business.
If you have already studied a relevant qualification - such as a degree or a professional qualification in accounting or business CIMA may grant you exemptions from some (or all) of the five papers at the Certificate level.
